The Little Den offers a short-term, trauma-informed nurture group for children aged 5–8 (KS1–lower KS2) experiencing social, emotional, or behavioural challenges.  Through gentle structure, creativity, and connection, we help each child feel safe, understood, and ready to learn again, preparing them for a confident return to school life.

Alternative Provision

At The Little Den, we provide small-group nurture sessions (maximum 6 pupils) using attachment- and trauma-informed practice. Our sessions focus on social skills, emotional regulation, and classroom readiness, and run on a flexible timetable of 2–4 hours per week in termly blocks. Each session is led by highly qualified, experienced teachers, and we are proud to be approved suppliers for Hampshire County Council.

Our provision is designed for children aged 5–8 years who may be experiencing emotional or behavioural challenges, early trauma or difficulties with attachment, social communication difficulties, low self-esteem or anxiety, or who are at risk of exclusion or non-attendance. We work with children with or without EHCPs, making our approach ideal for early intervention before challenges escalate.

Through our nurture-based sessions, children develop increased emotional stability and resilience, improve their peer relationships, and engage more effectively in learning. Our support helps children reintegrate smoothly into class and reduces the risk of exclusion or long-term out-of-school placement.
